March 2019 – The Month in Review at Square Circle New York Training Center!

Mar. 27, 2019 – Spring is finally here! As we are preparing to leave March (and the winter weather) behind us, we wanted to take some time to reflect on what an action-packed month it has been. Additionally, the new season means new exciting things are happening at SCNY. Read on to find out!

First up, we want to congratulate our Kaiju Youth students for all of the hard work they have been putting into their training and it shows! Ranking exams took place during the first week of March, giving them the opportunity to show their instructors and their parents all of the new skills they have learned this past quarter. Congratulations to the youth students for their new ranks – keep up the good work!

Additionally, we wanted to welcome our new youth students joining us this quarter and we look forward to seeing you on the mat!

In other Youth program news, the new quarter means that there are new Character Building assignments for Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. In order to be eligible for the next testing cycle, students must have completed and handed in two assignments for both Muay Thai and BJJ classes. Please keep in mind that handing in all of the assignments does not guarantee an automatic rank up; good attendance, good behavior, and most of all, hard work are all taken into account during testing week!

Next up, we have some exciting news for our Monday night Circuit Training 7pm class. Starting this week, Christine Jones will take over as our new strength and conditioning instructor! Some of you may remember Christine from the time she worked on the front desk last year. Since then, she has gone on to become a personal trainer, certified through the American Council on Exercise. Her training style incorporates mobility and stability training with sports-specific speed, balance, and agility training. Space is limited to 6 people per class, and will take place in the weight room in the back. Members who are interested in taking the Circuit Training class with Christine are encouraged to book their spot in advance ! Please see the front desk for more info.

SCNY athlete Justin Taylor will participate in the upcoming Muay Thai interclub smoker at Chok Sabai, March 30th this coming Saturday. The event starts at 3pm and it is $10 for entrance. Chok Sabai is located at 30th Street and 5th Avenue. Come out and show your support!

SCNY Training Center New Location 80 Nassau Street! Soft Opening January 8, 2018!

Jan. 6, 2018 – It’s been over a week since you last trained and it’s time you dust off your gloves and Gi’s! Our soft opening is next Monday, January 8th at 12pm. Looking forward to having everyone back!

We’re so excited to announce that we are finally in our new space at 80 Nassau Street in the lower level! Thank you again for all of your patience and a special thank you to everyone who volunteered last weekend to assist us with the move. We couldn’t have done it without your help!

In the first phase of our class schedule, we are keeping almost the same schedule as before. The only exception is that adult evening group classes are on the hour instead of the half hour.

As mentioned above, this is a soft opening. That means that our training center will not be at 100% capacity when you show up next week. We will still be working towards that goal, so please be patient with us. We are accepting early pre-enrollments before we are at full operating capacity! Call 212-964-9800 or email info@squarecirclenewyork.com for more details on early enrollment and huge savings! We are located in FiDi in the heart of lower Manhattan where every major train stops!

Martin Luther King Jr Day Jan 15. Evening Classes are Scheduled as Normal. 12pm Class is Cancelled.

Jan. 14, 2018 – Our soft opening was on Monday, January 8th, which means we’ve just completed our first full week of training at our new location, 80 Nassau Street! We’re so glad to have brought in 2018 with you and we look forward to growing the SCNY family and school!

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, 12pm Muay Thai All Levels class will be CANCELLED on Monday, January 15th. All other classes will remain on the schedule as normal.

Please note that we are currently in the process of doing an email migration and will have limited email functionality for this weekend. If we need to contact you regarding any membership information, we will reach you through phone OR email at squarecirclemuaythai@gmail.com

Be sure to look over the new class schedule below. Please note that this is a DYNAMIC SCHEDULE that will be REVIEWED QUARTERLY. Classes will STAY ON THE SCHEDULE or MOVE TO A DIFFERENT TIME, BASED ON ATTENDANCE. This is done so that we can better serve our member community efficiently with the classes that the majority will want at a specific time.
