Policies
Our goal is to maintain a safe, respectful, and comfortable training environment for all members. Due to the close-contact nature of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai training, maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and clear membership expectations is essential for the well-being of our community.
Membership Policies
No Contract/Agreements
- We offer flexible membership options with no long-term agreements or binding contracts, allowing our members to enjoy the freedom to train on their own terms.
- Payments are not refundable once they have been processed. We encourage members to review our cancellation and hold policies, so they know what options are available if their schedule changes.
Cancellation Policy
- A 30-day notice is required for all membership cancellations.
- Members are responsible for any dues within this 30-day notice period.
Membership Holds (Freezes)
- Hold requests must be submitted in advance and are available in 30-day (one-month) increments.
- Members will not be charged tuition during an approved hold period.
- There will be a small nominal fee charged for each month that a member is away.
- Hold requests must be made prior to the absence; requests made after time away has already occurred cannot be applied retroactively.
Hygiene Policies
Personal Hygiene Requirements
- Members should bathe or shower regularly and are strongly encouraged to do so prior to attending class, especially after a full day of work or physical activity.
- The use of deodorant or antiperspirant is required to help minimize body odor during training.
- Fingernails and toenails must be kept short and clean to prevent accidental scratches or injury.
- Members should avoid wearing strong fragrances, as these may cause discomfort or sensitivities in others.
BJJ Training Attire Standards
- All Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu uniforms (Gi) must be freshly washed, fully dried, and free of odor before each class.
- No-Gi attire (rash guards, shorts, spats) must also be clean and laundered after every use.
- Training gear should be in good condition, without excessive wear, tears, or mildew.
- Members should not reuse unwashed gear from previous sessions.
Muay Thai Equipment Hygiene
- All personal Muay Thai equipment—including gloves, shin guards, headgear, elbow pads, and knee pads, must be properly maintained to prevent odor and the spread of bacteria.
- Equipment should be sprayed or wiped down with an appropriate disinfectant after every training session.
- Gear must be fully aired out after use; members are strongly encouraged to remove items from gym bags promptly and allow them to dry completely.
- Hand wraps must be washed after each use and not reused without laundering.
- Equipment that develops persistent odor or shows signs of mold or excessive wear should be replaced for the safety and comfort of all members.
